This previously unknown form of art of shadow puppetry in Northern India has become a part of the cultural scenario in this area and the folk appeal of puppetry has made a strong impact amongst the rural population of this region.
Puppets depicting Ganapati, Shiva and Nandiswara, all played their part in this puppet theatre presentation and the show was enjoyed by local villagers as well as those who came to the temple from Sujanpur to organize a "bhandara"* on the occasion of Manimahesh Yatra. The show was conducted by Prabal Pramanik.
* [Bhandara is free food distribution for pilgrims going to the pilgrimage of Manimaheshwara. The bhandara continued for several days, serving free food to pilgrims.]
