Cultural function at
Lakshmi Narayan temple, Bhamlada
organized by Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts

On 18th December, 2013 a cultural function was organized by Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts at Lakshmi Narayan temple, Bhamlada.
The function featured an exhibition of Devasthanakala Paper Cutting art by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik, a workshop of paper lace cutting art and a folk music presentation.

Students and some teachers from Satya Vidya Mandir and Vivekansh Vidyalaya attended the show. The students who came to the workshop of paper lace cutting conducted by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik were thrilled indeed. Beautiful designs were made by those who participated in the workshop of paper lace cutting.
Visitors at Lakshmi Narayan temple enjoyed the Devasthanakala paper cutting art works by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik. Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik also gave live demonstrations of paper cutting art there.
Enjoyable folk music was presented by Shri Devraj Sarotranath who played the harmonium too.

Shri Narasimhlal Agnihotri played the Dholaka, a percussion folk instrument. Devraj Baba played melodious tunes on his flute during the folk music presentation.
Villagers who attended the function greatly appreciated the cultural presentations.
Devasthanakala paper cutting art works that have a strong folk orientation is easily understood and appreciated by the rural folk.
