Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts has organized a cultural programme at Budge Budge for the second year at the public library there on 7th March 2015.
These comprehensive programmes link our academy with Kolkata and make it possible to organize future programmes at Bhamlada with artists from Kolkata.
The programmes at Kolkata make people there aware of our activities and the become a part of our programmes. This is a unique way of connecting two different cultural worlds.
This programme was specially organized for children who participated actively in our programmes.
An exhibition of children’s artworks was arranged at the Public library. Several art schools cooperated with Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts and sent pictures by their students to be displayed.
Madam Kakali Mukherjee, Mr. Sankhajit Jana, Mr. Chittaranjan Ray, Amar Sadhukhan and Mr. Soumen Naskar sent the art works of their students to be displayed at the hall. There was a musical presentation by children on this occasion too.
Young musicians, Mr. Abhiroop Mukherjee, Miss Dipanwita Thakurta, Miss Tanushree Roy and Miss Dipanwita Nath from the music school run by Madam Shubhra Mukherjee gave vocal presentations from "Hridirasadhare", a book of lyrics by Prabal Pramanik. Mr. Abhijit Choudhuri and Mr. Rudra Rana provided accompaniment on the tablas.
The children enjoyed themselves and provided quality presentation. In this special programme for children, art documentary "In His Paper World" and some animation movies made from paper cuttings of Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik were screened.
This was the first time the children of Budge Budge had a chance to enjoy paper cutting animations. Mr. Tulsi Das, an eminent senior artist from Budge Budge presided over the function.
Madam Shubhra Mukherjee was special guest at the function. The reprint of the books "Between Two Horizons" and "The Unknown Path" in a combined version was launched at this programme too.
The reprint of the book, "Reflective poetry, Between Two Horizons & The Unknown Path" was launched by Mr. Tulsi Das. The multidimensional programme of high quality was a successful attempt at cultural consolidation by Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts and its publications wing, M/s Orient Book Company. The artists were presented participation certificates too.
This attempt shows how visual arts, performing arts, movies and book release can be combined successfully to provide an evening of Cultural entertainment.
I am sure that this function will leave a lasting impression on the local people at Budge Budge and make many of them interested in our work at Bhamlada. They will be able to follow our work through the internet and view this report of their activities at the function at Budge Budge.
