On 20th March 2010 an educational programme was held by Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts at J.B.T. Teachers’ Training College (DIET) Dharmsala in Himachal Pradesh, India.
The programme featured an exhibition of Devasthanakala art works by Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik, a lecture on history of Devasthanakala and the induction of this traditional form of art in the world of contemporary mass media through animation making and the screening of animation movies made with paper cutting art.
Ustad Kalakar Prabal Pramanik elaborated on the journey from tradition to technology, through Devasthanakala paper cutting art. A documentary movie made by multimedia wing Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts “An Artist’s view of Dharamsala and beyond” was also screened at this programme.
This show was greatly appreciated by the teachers and students of the training college.
The programme was held absolutely free of cost by Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts.
