Pramanik's Academy of Arts The enthusiasm and excitement with which the local village people attended the shows prove their appreciation for culture. Kalyani hall of Prabal Pramanik’s Academy of Arts was full of local villagers and visitors from far-off places too. Visitors came from Chandigarh, Dharamsala, Pathankot, Dalhousie and even from abroad. The cultural interaction amongst different social surroundings led to a better understanding amongst the participants and the spectators. The diversity of the programmes made the shows more enjoyable and entertaining. The shows at this cultural festival was well attended by huge number of students from many educational institutions. Local schools and a college as well as a school from Dalhousie brought lots of students who enjoyed the exhibition, film shows and art demonstrations. Solo workshops were held here. The film festival was very popular and villagers came from distant places on foot even, to see the animation and documentary shows. The documentary that was screened on this hill area focusing on the land and people of this place was greatly appreciated and it gave the local people an identity and a new measure of self respect.
